The wildly popular musical SIX is coming to Playhouse Square for eight shows from November 11-16. If you want tickets, mark your calendar for Wednesday, July 30 when they go on sale at playhousesquare.org.
For those who haven’t heard of it yet, SIX takes Henry VIII’s six wives and turns them into modern-day pop stars. Think of it as a high-energy concert where historical figures get to tell their own stories through catchy songs and fierce choreography. The New York Times said it “TOTALLY RULES!” and honestly, that seems about right.
The Cleveland production will star Chani Maisonet as Catherine of Aragon, Gaby Albo as Anne Boleyn, Kelly Denice Taylor as Jane Seymour, Danielle Mendoza as Anna of Cleves, Alizé Cruz as Katherine Howard, and Tasia Jungbauer as Catherine Parr. The ensemble features Taylor Sage Evans, Hailey Lewis, Carlina Parker, Caroline Siegrist, and Amaya White.
What makes SIX even more impressive is its backstory. Two Cambridge University students, Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, created this show that went from a small production to a global hit. It swept up 23 awards during the 2021-2022 Broadway season, including the Tony for Best Original Score. The cast album even hit No. 1 on Billboard and has racked up over 100 million streams.
