AKRON, OH (April 20, 2017)— Country music star, Joe Nichols, FM 94.9 WQMX and the Goodyear Theater are looking for Northeast Ohio’s best country artist or band to open the Joe Nichols/Joe Hall country music night at the brand new Goodyear Theater on Thursday, May 11 at 8:00 p.m. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m.

The Goodyear Theater reserves the right, at their sole discretion to select the opening act for this concert or to pass on all submissions and select no opener. If a winning selection is made, that artist and/or band will recieve 20 complimentary tickets to the show for friends and family and will meet Joe Nichols on the day of the concert.

Joe Nichols is a multi-platinum recording artist and one of country music’s most praised traditional artists. Nichols has six #1 hits and eight Top 10 singles to his credit, including chart-toppers like “Brokenheartsville,” “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” and “Gimmie That Girl.” The four-time Grammy nominee and winner of the Academy of Country Music’s “Top New Male Vocalist” award, is currently touring the U.S. performing his own headlining dates.

East End Promotions, an entertainment subsidiary of partners Industrial Realty Group and Industrial Commercial Properties has teamed up with the Cleveland-based Elevation Group in the development of two new Northeastern Ohio concert and event venues. The Goodyear Theater and Hall were built in 1920 and were used by Goodyear, internally, for a variety of purposes over the next nine decades. Neither venue has ever been open to the public for music and entertainment.

The complex, known as the East End, encompasses the historic Goodyear headquarters at 1201 East Market Street in Akron. The new entertainment complex will feature the Goodyear Theater (seated capacity of 1,458) and Goodyear Hall (capacity of 3,500). The East End is a 5.5 million square foot, mixed use redevelopment initiative. In addition to the theater and hall, the development includes the East End Residence Loft Apartments, state-of-the-art office space, and the new Hilton Garden Inn Hotel along with planned restaurants, retail and more.
