There’s no shortage of talent here in Ohio and when you have the drive and determination like these five bands, you’re bound to make headlines. In Take 3 of Supporting The Scene we’re highlighting bands that are known for their killer shows and their hard work that goes into making what their fans have come to enjoy. The Permanents

This rock trio is taking Cleveland by storm and proving that hard work and dedication to your art pay off. With a recent performance on Fox 8 Morning News Show under their belt, The Permanents are keeping themselves busy! Defy Reality

There’s no shortage of passion with these guys, and the support they have for the local scene is only emphasized through their love of music. After playing their first show in 2013, Defy Reality have managed to snag lineup spots with big-name bands such as Sworn In, For All Those Sleeping, A Skylit Drive, I The Mighty and more! They recently released a single off their upcoming EP, set to drop this summer. The best part? It features Ryan Kirby of Fit For A King! Ohio On Hi

Lineup changes and additions haven’t slowed down Ohio on Hi in the slightest. In fact, they’re currently in the Ernie Ball PLAY Warped Tour competition where they will have a chance to play mainstage at one of the local Warped Tour dates! These guys have an energy within their music that goes unmatched, combining classic hardcore/punk styles with a new age radio rock feel that gets everyone on their feet. How can you not like a band who’s ‘About’ section on their Facebook states: “We try not to break stuff”? You’ll have a few chances to catch these guys live over the next few weeks. The Waves

These guys pride themselves on being original, refusing to limit themselves to a specific genre but instead are “inspired by many, defined by none.” Coming off their recent win at the 2017 Tri C High School Rock Off, you’ll be able to catch these guys at the Vans Warped Tour Cleveland date! Their high energy and impressive stage presence is something you won’t want to miss, and in case you can’t wait until Warped Tour – don’t worry – you can catch The Waves at The Spring Kick Off on March 24th at The Outpost.
