The normally quiet and serene country hillsides of Canal Fulton Ohio were electric with excitement on Friday evening as Day Two of Country Fest was in full swing and Superstar Luke Bryan was in town!
Clays Park Resort is home to this annual gathering of Country Music notables and it is quite possibly the most perfect venue ever for such an event. Nestled up against a natural hillside – it is astatically perfect – and this mid-June evening was perfect for such an event, low humidity, gentle breeze – it all just seemed right.
Superstar Luke Bryan headlines this day festivities but fans are treated to an entire evening of warm-up for his 10 PM set. Morgan Wallen, Chris Lane, and John Pardi individually worked the crowd into a frenzy and by the time 10 PM finally rolled around – the crowd was ready to dance, sing-a-long and party like tomorrow wasn’t going to come—-and that is exactly what they did.
The line between pop, rock, and country music has been forever blurred and Luke Bryan is one of the major reasons for the blending.
Hitting the stage in his trademark tight shirt, tight pants, ball cap and boots amidst smoke and lasers, he tore into Country Girl (Shake It For Me) – the reaction from the crowd was instant and overwhelming – nothing like the feeling of that many people all united in sheer joy – singing along, smiling. It’s infectious and it set the tone for Bryan’s entire set.
What followed was a nearly two-hour sing-a-long set filled with Bryan’s message of friends, family, faith, love, hope, and pride in who you are and what you stand for.
My personal favorite moment of the evening was his performance of I Don’t Want This Night To End – a fun audience participation song that truly highlighted his ability to interact and entertain the crowd.
Bryan and his band provided a high energy, fun evening of quality entertainment. He is one of those performers that even if you don’t know one word of any song he is performing – you can’t take your eyes off of him.
When all was said and done – this proved to be one of the most entertaining, interactive yet somehow intimate concert experiences I have ever covered.
Job well done Mr. Bryan – you have earned yourself another fan.
Luke Bryan is on the road all summer long – on his Farm Tour 2018. I can’t recommend highly enough that you catch this highly entertaining show if at all possible. You can CLICK HERE to see when he’s going to be in a town near you.
Country Fest continues today – at Clay’s Park Resort. It is as close to perfect a place for a celebration of this nature that you’re going to find so if you’re looking for something to do on this beautiful summer Saturday – look no further. Info on Country Fest can be found here.
