SHINEDOWN // special
Being the only soft song on their album released on 5/4, ‘special’ is uniquely set apart from every other piece in ATTENTION ATTENTION right off the bat, due to the simplistic contrasting of ‘special’ being the only single throughout everything released to be in all lowercase type, very specifically pointing out its superiority. Brent Smith’s vocals are obviously softly enticing us to give him our full attention. With the soft vocals in addition to the acoustic guitar and piano playing in the background, Shinedown’s harsh realistic lyrics give us the opportunity to keep us from waiting for things to come our way, and get up and make it happen.
CHRISTINA AGUILERA // ACCELERATE FT. TY DOLLA $IGN & 2 CHAINZ
As always, we’re absolutely struck by Aguilera’s strong lead vocals throughout ‘Accelerate’. Ty Dolla $ign repetitively goes back and forth with 2 Chainz adding in and out, and even when not playing the lead, Aguilera’s enchanting empowering vibed sound can continuously be heard. As for the lyrics, the mixed genre group combined their every-day popular hype on life as a confident and successful artist in the mainstream music category to create a very basic storyline.
ENRIQUE IGLESIAS // MOVE TO MIAMI FT. PITBULL
The repetitive feel-good upbeat pop/dance music creating duo have always ceased to keep us energized with their lively music when collaborating. We can feel the appreciation deep down when listening to this song, as it brings a new pop feel in addition to our late 2000’s favorite dance music. Between the two artists, we get the biggest urge that sooner or later a breathtaking woman is absolutely going to make us want to ‘Move To Miami’.
CHARLIE PUTH // THE WAY I AM
We Don’t Talk Anymore vocalist Charlie Puth is clearly still on fire with his newest single ‘The Way I Am’. Always creating a positive outlook with all his lyrics, Puth is repetitively creating mass enjoyment from his music. ‘The Way I Am’ has a simple upbeat but new and unique sound. The lyricism in this song shows nothing short of genius due to the fact of how relatable his content is. Giving his cares away, and telling everyone that ‘That’s just the way I am’ is arguably one of the most confident lines in ‘The Way I Am’.
TRAVIS SCOTT // WATCH FT. LIL UZI VERT & KANYE WEST
The whistling throughout ‘Watch’ is arguably a favorite in this new track. We’re greeted with rollercoaster/theme park sounds in the first 10 seconds of the song, and then thrown straight into the lyrics of this song. The upbeat rhythm of this single flows greatly with the over powering vocals, and leaves obvious trademarks from both Lil Uzi Vert and Kanye West. The ending of ‘Watch’ gives us a nice outro of a woman talking, and then heading straight into a slightly higher volume tune, and eventually cutting completely out.
JIMMY EAT WORLD // LOVE NEVER
Jimmy Eat World never fails us to bring on intense alternative rock flows with sharp and talented vocals. In the single ‘Love Never’, we’re given the uniquely outstanding talent in Jim Adkins’ voice. In addition, it’s a tough cross on whether the music itself or the lyrics win the prize here. While repetitively pleading ‘Baby, every time I love you / It’s in and out of my life, in and out baby / Tell me, if you really love me’ we’re absolutely shaken up with emotion. It’s safe to say we’re given the opportunity to listen to some solidly fantastic music just by Jimmy Eat World, alone.
