Pentatonix // Perfect
Grammy Award winners for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their cover of Jolene ft. Dolly Parton, Pentatonix is about to drop an 11-song album. From what we’ve heard so far, their cover of Ed Sheeran’s Perfect has a pretty solid chance of being a fan favorite. The song additionally shares a refining cello in the background played by current member Kevin Olusola. Check out their song Perfect from the album PTX Presents: Top Pop, Vol. I which releases today.
LEDGER // Foreigner
As seen in my previous article, the new LEDGER solo EP has it’s ups and downs for sure. However, the gravitational pull we’re feeling towards Jen’s song Foreigner is fierce. The song holds up a part in this 6 track EP that wasn’t expected at all. With childhood references with an eerie intro, and Jen’s sharp vocals leaves the your senses on guard, and increases to a heavy and confident chorus. Toward the end we get nice drop, making Foreigner arguably the strongest piece out of every other song we’re hearing. The LEDGER Solo EP & Foreigner are both available for streaming as of today.
Drake // Nice For What
Canadian rapper, singer, and songwriter released his single Nice For What last Friday. The song reportedly reached over 20 million U.S. streams, and has sold over 40,000 downloads during the first three days of release. Nice For What starts out with some 90’s hip-hop sounding female vocals, which add a nice simple touch to Drake’s sound. Drake talks in regards to letting loose, and life being short. Check out Nice For What today.
