JOHN MAYER // NEW LIGHT
With an automatic uplifting instrumental entrance, we’re already loving New Light. Mayer’s insanely recognizable vocals hit within the first 30 seconds, giving us all those throwback feels of the 2000’s when he repetitively topped charts with singles such as Daughters, and Your Body Is A Wonderland. As always, we’ve yet to be disappointed. The way he’s able to throw together a track with such smooth and flowing pieces leaves us wanting more every time.
ARCTIC MONKEYS // ONE POINT PERSPECTIVE
Piano keys draw us in with a light drum beat in the background. The vocals make a significant stand out in this track as it’s the most intricate form in the first minute of the song. Throughout the center of this piece we’re greeted with an enticing guitar solo that gives us an early 90’s feel; which let’s be honest, we’re always up for. Along with One Point Perspective, Arctic Monkeys additionally released the entire album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino consisting of 11 new tracks.
BAD WOLVES // HEAR ME NOW
In complete honesty, the vocals in all of Bad Wolves’ songs is arguably our favorite. With such distinctly gritty but smooth vocals in every single song we hear we’re practically always happy. With a satisfying guitar intro, we’re thrown in for pure bliss. All at once we’re hit with soft vocals that later hit harder. Hear Me Now speaks out about wanting to be heard, and be something rather than just hang in the shadows.
WOLF CULTURE // KILLING THE HIGH HORSE
In an EP releasing 4 singles, Wolf Cultures Killing The High Horse makes a prominent rise for distinctive sound. With the vocals throwing an early 2000’s punk rock vibe at us, our inner rock and roll kid is loving it. Throughout the song the same vibe stays for a majority, but absolutely makes it’s place on the EP.
MARIAN HILL // WISH YOU WOULD
Hitting the electronic music spectrum, Marian Hill is absolutely catching our attention. With electronic riffs in the beginning, and throughout the rest of the song we’re interested in where Hill got her inspiration for the album. Her mellow voice gives the music itself a solid platform to be heard, with constant soft accents. Wish You Would is is track number 5 of 10 on her album Unusual. It’s highly recommend to check out her unique album art as well.
