It is the best day of the week: New Music Friday! This is going to be a good weekend to make a new playlist; these new songs are making up for last week’s less than spectacular releases. A few of my favorite artists are making an appearance this week as well, so take some time today to take a listen.

Growing Pains // COIN

After speaking with COIN lead singer Chase Lawrence this week, I was very excited to learn that their new song ‘Growing Pains’ was going to be released in just a few days. Today is that day and, might I say, it is a fantastic tune. I can already see ‘Growing Pains’ plastered all over my summer playlists with its light and upbeat energy. Catch them in Cleveland on Feb. 18 at the House of Blues.

Wild Love // James Bay

It would be an understatement to say I’ve been waiting a while for new music by James Bay, and ‘Wild Love’ absolutely filled the void in my heart. Bay sings with what sounds like a chorus behind him on this track which adds an incredible depth to the song. James Bay has clearly matured since his last release and grown into his own. This song is definitely a great representation of is

Volcanic Love // The Aces

Female quartet from Utah, The Aces, is currently on tour with aforementioned COIN and have mastered what only HAIM and a few others have: a serious, non-cheesy girl band. They have a very distinct sound and I genuinely enjoy each of their songs on the ‘I Don’t Like Being Honest’ EP, which was released last year.

The Ways // Khalid, Swae Lee

Nineteen-year-old singer-songwriter Khalid has seen such a great deal of success this year with his music, awards and a world tour. Swae Lee joins the modern-soul singer on this track that is 100% true to Khalid’s style. If I hadn’t seen that this song was released today, I would have thought it was just another cohesive piece to his last album.

We are… // Noah Cyrus, MØ

‘We are…’ is yet another single released by the youngest Cyrus, Noah. Miley’s little sister has done what many have failed at: separating herself from her famous family and paving her own way. Her music is unique, and she has a great ability to connect to her listeners with relatable lyrics. Not to mention, her songs are just pure fun to jam out to.

This list is so great, it could be a playlist on its own. Enjoy the weekend, Cleveland! Pray that good music continues to come our way.
