Jazz trumpeter Herb Alpert and vocalist Lani Hall will perform at The Kent Stage on Wednesday, November 8th at 7:30.
Best known for his work with the Tijuana Brass, Alpert has earned fourteen platinum albums, fifteen gold albums, nine Grammy Awards and is the only artist to have a number one hit on the Billboard pop charts as a vocalist (“This Guy’s In Love With You”) and as a instrumentalist (“Rise”). To go along with all of those achievements, Alpert also was a co-founder of A & M Records which earned him a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Lani Hall, who happens to be Alpert’s wife, has had a distinguished career as a vocalist as well. She first appeared on the platinum selling album Herb Alpert Presents Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66. She is a multiple Grammy winner who is perhaps best known for the song “Never Say Never Again” from the James Bond film.
It has been over forty years since Alpert has performed in Ohio. Tickets are going fast, but you can purchase them at www.thekentstage.com.
