Beware of flying Deloreans, Valley Speak and men who don’t wear hats!

Retro Futura, celebrating that awesome decade chock full of leg warmers, mullets, Miami Vice and, of course, a litany of great music, will be hitting the Hard Rock Rocksino this Saturday, August 5th.

Remember the movie Valley Girl? Modern English’s “Melt With You” was an anthem that transcended the film, jumped off HBO during the summer of 1984 and lived in your head all throughout the L.A. Olympics. Right?

Well, Modern English will be there and allow you to relive those moments, even if Julie dumped Randy the morning after that big-haired prom in the valley.

The iteration of this year’s tour includes Howard Jones, Katrina Leskanich (of Katrina and the Waves), Paul Young, Men Without Hats, Modern English and The English Beat. The last time this tour came through town was in 2014; Jones and Leskanich headlined a group that included Tom Bailey of The Thompson Twins and Midge Ure of Ultravox. This edition is a little more epic, adding some high-wattage names from bands that have either recently got back together or haven’t toured in quite some time. Although their hair isn’t as big as it was in 1985, the artists on this tour singlehandedly kept AquaNet in business for the latter half of the Me Decade.

And now that song is back in your head after all these years.

You’re welcome.
