Sunday Night was not an ordinary night in the Rubber City, Akron as Two veteran Rock Groups 3 Doors Down and Pop Evil took over the newly opened Goodyear Theater in the heart of Akron, Ohio.

The night started off with up-and-coming Red Sun Rising, a group from Akron, signed with Razor & Tie Records started it off with a bang rocking out the hometown crowd which was backing them through the entire night. They performed a 9 Song Set including an Encore with Emotionless. If you haven’t seen this group live yet then do yourself a favor and do so, they are honestly one of the favorites to become the next big thing in Rock.

Next up was one of the most underrated groups I’ve ever come across, the band out of Michigan that goes by Pop Evil with lead singer Leigh Kakaty, had the room booming and everyone on their feet in the 1500 person Theater for their entire 10 song set starting with Deal with the Devil and ending with their hit song Footsteps. In the Middle, Leigh slowed it down and pulled it old school bringing out the Acoustic Guitar singing (My Favorite) 100 in a 55. I feel this band should be where bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Rob Zombie are playing headlining places like Blossom Music Center, Wolstein Center, Coveilli Centers.

The last group of the night was the veterans of the stage, 3 Doors Down, which is celebrating twenty years doing live music. Brad Arnold and the boys completely blew the rubber off the Goodyear Theater with a 17 song setlist and an amazing new set. It gleamed like a view from a back porch straight out of Mississippi with stars glowing and silhouette trees as the backdrop. They kicked off with Still Alive which was released in March, ending with 4 of there biggest hits with Kryptonite, Here without you, Loser and When I’m Gone.
